Teen comedy The Inbetweeners recorded a reasonable audience for its opening double bill on E4 last night.
The first episode, shown at 10pm, was watched by 238,000 - 1.33% of the total viewing audience - while the second reached 280,000 (2.11%) from 10.35pm.
E4's average audience for the slot so far this year is 176,000 (1.12%), but The Inbetweeners fell below the 324,000 (2.21%) figure for 2007.
The show was easily surpassed by an audience of 883,000 (4.84%) for BBC Three's 10pm EastEnders repeat.
ITV4 was the big multichannel winner of the night, though, with 1.1m (5.75%) watching Uefa Cup football coverage from 7.30pm.
